Our team is skilled in evaluating, diagnosing, and delivering therapy for children who may be facing challenges with their communication or swallowing. Our objective is to devise and execute a personalised, evidence-based plan, set goals, and provide therapy, all with the intention of optimising your child’s development.

Meet Our Speech Therapists

Shakila Ramathasan

Shakila is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from the University of Sydney. 

Originally from Melbourne, Shakila returned home after her studies in Sydney to pursue her passion for working with children and their families. She ensures her therapy sessions are both enjoyable and practical, aiming to integrate skills into a child’s daily life.

Shakila’s expertise spans a variety of communication needs, including speech, language, literacy, social skills, and feeding. She enjoys working with children of all ages, from toddlers and preschoolers to school-aged children and teenagers.

Committed to lifelong learning, Shakila continually seeks to enhance her skills. She has a particular interest in working with children with developmental delays and/or disabilities and has undergone specific training and professional development. She has undertaken training through DValert in family and domestic violence and paediatric feeding. Furthermore, Shakila has professional development training in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk + More Than Words, Sounds Write,  Social Thinking – More Than Social Skills, Adina Levy’s workshops including neurodiversity affirming practice and many more.

Shakila is proficient in Key Word Sign (KWS) and is can speak Tamil.

As a Certified Practising Member of Speech Pathology Australia, Shakila is dedicated to ongoing education and continually seeks opportunities to broaden her knowledge and skills.

Sarah

Sarah completed her Master of Speech Pathology at the University of Melbourne. She worked as a mobile allied health assistant while studying and is now a graduate Speech Pathologist offering both mobile services in Greater Dandenong and the Mornington Peninsula, and some clinic-based services out of Mulgrave.

Sarah enjoys working with clients and their families to achieve functional and client-centred goals in the areas of speech, language, and social communication. She is passionate about neurodiversity affirming care and continues to broaden her knowledge in this area. Sarah’s has experience in a variety of communication needs, including speech, language, literacy, social skills, and more.

Sarah is proficient in Key Word Sign. She has undertaken professional development training through Adina Levy’s workshops including neurodiversity affirming practice and is certified to run the Hanen – More Than Words parent program.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time in nature and writing short stories.

Sarah is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and is recognised as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist.
